FuelEU Maritime penalty calculator

Well-to-wake GHG intensity, the compliance balance against the year's target and the penalty for one ship-year — computed with the same engine and the same Annex II factors this site publishes.

Ship-year inputs

Fuel consumed (tonnes)
FuelBetween EU ports and at berthTo or from a non-EU portHFOVLSFO / ULSFO / LSFOMGO / MDOLNGLPG

Split each fuel the way Article 2 does: energy used between two EU/EEA ports and at berth in one counts in full, energy on a voyage with one end outside counts for half. Leave a field blank where a fuel was not used.

What this does and does not tell you

The intensity is the energy-weighted well-to-wake average of the fuels you enter, built from the Annex II default factors with the Annex I formula; the balance is the distance to the Article 4(2) target times the energy in scope, and the penalty follows Annex IV Part B. All three come from the same functions the platform runs.

It covers fossil fuels at their default values only. Biofuels and renewable fuels of non-biological origin take the values of their certified pathway, not a default, and the reward for those fuels, wind-assisted propulsion and shore power are not modelled — a ship using any of them will do better than this page shows.

Nor is it a verified figure. The balance that counts is the one in the verified FuelEU document for the ship, after any banking, borrowing or pooling.
