FuelEU Maritime pooling calculator

Whether an Article 21 pool is valid, how the surplus is allocated across the ships and how much penalty the pool avoids — computed with the same engine the platform runs.

Enter each ship's annual FuelEU compliance balance: positive for a surplus, negative for a deficit. The attained well-to-wake intensity is optional and only prices the penalty. Leave unused rows blank.

What this does and does not tell you

The pool is valid only if the ships' balances sum to a strictly positive number. The surplus then covers every deficit ship to exactly zero, and the remainder stays with the surplus ships in proportion to what each brought. Pooling moves balances, never intensities.

The penalty avoided is each ship's first-year Annex IV penalty before pooling less the penalty after, summed. It does not include the Article 23 uplift for consecutive deficit years, nor whatever a surplus ship charges for its surplus — that price is a private contract, not a regulatory figure.

Nor is it a verified figure. A pool is declared through the verifier for the reporting period, and the balances that count are the verified ones after any banking or borrowing.
