EU MRV for shipping companies: monitoring plans, per-voyage CO₂ reporting, THETIS-MRV submission and verification, explained from Regulation (EU) 2015/757.
EU MRV is Regulation (EU) 2015/757 as amended by Regulation (EU) 2023/957: the monitoring, reporting and verification of ship emissions on which the EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime are built. It applies to ships of 5 000 gross tonnage and above calling at ports under the jurisdiction of a Member State. Reg (EU) 2015/757 Reg (EU) 2023/957
The cycle runs from a monitoring plan assessed by the verifier, through per-voyage monitoring, to an annual emissions report verified by an accredited verifier and submitted by 31 March of the following year, with a document of compliance carried on board by 30 June.
